I am Cunard

I am the "ard" in McChenard. My name is Jill and my husband and 4 month old son live in Northwest Iowa. My husband provides for us while I am a stay at home mom. I am a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) nurse part time, so you could say that I can't get enough of being around babies! 

My husband and I love doing anything outdoors-hiking, biking, running (or walk/jogging in my case), and exploring new places. My husband is an avid cyclist and is currently out for a couple hour bike ride-he told me he didn't know when he would be back. It might be 25 miles, or 80 miles...oh being the wife of a cyclist! 

Our guilty pleasure is watching Planet Earth (nerdy, I know), and we have pizza EVERY Friday night. We absolutely love our church here in Le Mars, and we do anything to get our 4 month old to smile and laugh at us. 

My son has a laid back, sweet personality, and loves to take naps on our chest (which he is currently doing-the only time I can get any writing done!).  That's just a little bit about the Cunard clan, and that's all for now, folks!

Ni Hao!
I am the "Chen" in McChenard.
My name is Annie (McInnis) Chen.
I'm married to a Chinese man (not Chinese American, rather born and raised in China).
We live in Japan with our daughter Julie, who was born in November, 2015.
We are full time missionaries here in Japan, with ministry in a variety of fields.
Our house ministry is geared toward college students, mainly foreign students coming to Japan from other countries.
Church ministry includes preaching, teaching Sunday school, occasional outreaches, and other basic "church activities."

All that to say, "Welcome to our blog!"
You'll find perspectives here from different generations and different cultural experiences.
Every post will be sprinkled with motherhood, in some facet or another.

May you find grace and encouragement here in your own journey of motherhood, faith, or life!
